My uncle came by to see me one day saying that I needed to get my behind back in church. I told him that I wasn’t going back because I’ve been hurt by what people have said to me on a few different occasions. My uncle said “ Julie going to church has nothing to do with your relationship with any of those people. It’s all about your relationship with God the Father and your Savior Jesus Christ.”
I started back to church not long after that. I have since been hurt by a few more people but I remember the words of my wise Uncle Roger and keep going to church to strengthen my relationship with Jesus. I’m so grateful to my uncle for loving me enough to stop by and set me straight.
My Uncle Roger is gone now. I have no doubt where he is. His words will stay with me as long as I live. I am happy to pass these wise words along whenever they are needed. ♥️
God bless you and your family Buddy. ♥️

This makes me so thankful for growing up in a church that did not judge your outward appearance, our preacher would actually tell the congregation it doesn’t matter if you come in rags, God sees your heart. He also didn’t mind if you slept in church, he said some folks work hard all week and that may be the only rest they get, and if your filled with the Holy Spirit your subconscious will get the message. ❤
