The most “empowered” woman I ever knew was my grandmother. She was widowed in 1935 and left to raise 3 kids in the deep south during the great depression. She was the embodiment of silent strength. She lived to be 95 and always had a positive outlook in spite of the hardships she went through. Today’s 3rd – 4th wave “feminists” can’t hold a candle to this extraordinary woman.
I always walk closer to the road when I walk with a woman. I still open doors, pull out chairs, and all the things I was raised to do. If a woman has a problem with me trying to be nice and chivalrous she can “get over herself”. I am not changing how my single mother raised me to appease anyone’s sense of disorder.
