This can’t be legal. How can California tax people that don’t even live in their state? I’ve never heard of a state having the power to tax people across state lines. If this bill becomes law, it will be challenged in the Supreme Court. States don’t have the power to tax people that don’t live, work, or own property in their state, especially after those people have left the state.
Newsom is insane with that tax bill. Charging ANYBODY from their right to leave the state is like paying for a divorce from an abuser!
Charging misdemeanor for under 1 grand only incentivizes more crime! Hell, I’m on my way to Cali to get myself some new sneakers and a gold chain!!
