Though I don’t know about now, we were THE world leaders when it comes to nuclear submarines. In 1964 I attended the christening of the Ulysis S. Grant at Electric Boat Co. in Groton CT. She was a fantastic ship with 16 missiles that each had 5 nuclear warheads. Now, I understand the new boats have 18 missiles and I’d be willing to bet they have more than 5 nuclear warheads. Having written that, I personally feel our Navy is a mere shadow of what it was in ’64 thanks to our ‘great leader’ Biden. He has for all practical purposes virtually destroyed our military and it’s ability to defend this nation.
