I was homeless for five months living under bridges and in the woods in the back of warehouse complexes. The sad reality of the situation is the majority of people that are homeless choose to be homeless. Even now as the economy is collapsing and the country spinning out into chaos there is still avenues and opportunities to get back up on your feet, how long they will be around who knows. If I chose to make the right decisions the five months could’ve been less than one month. Usually there is some thing the person does not want to quit or give up, they would rather remain on the street then clean up and get into a program.
